UKATA sets the standards for asbestos training in the UK and also works with members to ensure that they continually meet those standards. By becoming a UKATA member, ESG will offer clients the reassurance that all of ESG’s asbestos awareness training is designed and delivered to the highest possible standard.
As asbestos was not banned until 1999, there is a risk that any premises built or refurbished before 2000 could contain asbestos. Because of this, any worker that is likely to risk disturbing asbestos is required to undertake asbestos awareness training under Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and the supporting Approved Code of Practice.
As one of the UK’s leading asbestos management and consultancy businesses, ESG offers asbestos awareness training as an added value service to all of its clients and this UKATA membership is set to bolster its training offering.
Denis Morgan, divisional technical manager, ESG Asbestos Ltd, commented: “Being approved for the UKATA membership is great news for ESG. Not only does it allow us to put a mark of quality on an asbestos awareness training programme that we already know to be industry leading, it also provides our clients with added reassurance.
“Asbestos awareness training is a hugely important aspect of health, safety and compliance, particularly for workers that could potentially disturb asbestos in their daily work. As a company we want to ensure that we are delivering the strongest asbestos awareness training course possible and support from UKATA will help us to achieve this.”
